A horror film legend features in a new North East production released next week, its director has revealed.
The Devil's Stone, the brand new horror short from award winning County Durham filmmaker Dean Midas, will be released next week - on Friday the 13th.
Ahead of the opening, Mr Midas has revealed the name of a horror legend who has joined the cast.
You may not know his name, or what he looks like - but horror fans will certainly recognise his voice.
American voice actor Roger L Jackson is the famous and very scary voice of Ghostface in the Scream franchise - and he has recorded the opening audio for The Devil's Stone. He is also known for voicing the character of Mojo Jojo on The Powerpuff Girls.
Mr Jackson joins young actress, Ellie Darcey-Alden who played Lily Potter in Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 2 and Franny in Doctor Who, in recording a cameo for the film.
Mr Midas, from Willington, said: "This is the icing on the cake and I can't quite believe it has happened.
"Huge thanks to Mr Jackson for doing it. Obviously he couldn't be Ghostface, but once you hear the opening audio, horror fans around the world will certainly know whose voice it is."
The film is based on the legend of The Devil’s Stone, the central feature of the landscaped area outside the council offices in the centre of Crook, County Durham.
It is thought to be more than 10,000 years old and called the Devil’s Stone because it is said if you run seven times around it, the devil himself will appear.

Mr Midas's take on the legend will include his new horror character, Sayer Hicks, played by Wayne Thompson.
All of the director’s films are shot using mobile phones in HD quality, using local locations, actors and crew.
This has led to them gaining international recognition at several film festivals and Mr Midas himself winning North-East Film-Maker of the Year and BBC Upload’s Film Master.
- The Devil's Stone is set to be released on Friday, October 13 via Dean Midas Films YouTube, with a premiere taking place in Durham, the night before.
