A multi-million-pound transformation of an iconic North East hotel has entered its final stage ahead of its re-opening towards the end of the year.
The Tynemouth Castle Inn, located on Tynemouth's Grand Parade with views of Longsands Beach is set to re-open by the end of this year following 14 months of construction works.
The newly refurbished pub with 72 hotel rooms is set to welcome guests at the start of November under the supervision of The Inn Collection Group.

Extensions that were formerly used for a ballroom will now hold a new fish and chip shop, Oswin’s, and ice cream parlour, Cones.
A sneak peek of the venue shows the outside has been art deco themed, with white rendering and blue signage and windows.
Ahead of the re-opening Group CEO of The Inn Collection Group Sean Donkin said: ”This stunning building is an institution on the coast in Tynemouth and we are delighted to be giving this icon a new lease of life for people in the community and visitors alike to enjoy.
“Our restoration has been a significant investment and has been carefully carried out to preserve the individual character and distinctiveness of the building.
“We are looking forward to being a part of the community and contributing to North Tyneside’s wider economic growth, prosperity and employment opportunities through increased, year-round trading.

“Our improved bar and dining areas are going to attract new and local custom whilst the increased bedrooms will generate increased overnight bookings throughout the year.”
New décor, furniture, carpets, and bathrooms have already been installed, with plans of serving breakfast and a seasonal main menu to guests and walk ins.
