A bookshop which champions LGBTQ+ and radical literature will be opening in Darlington town centre today.
Queerish Bookshop has opened its store on Bondgate in Darlington on at 10am on Wednesday (October 3).
The store will be offering 'queer and radical' literature to its customers as it opens next Oakley's Barbershop.

A spokesperson for the shop has called itself a "queer, independent bookshop" and has welcomed residents to join them on "Bondgate."
A Queerish Bookshop spokesperson said: "So many wonderful things happening in October - Halloween, Black History Month, and the opening of the Queerish Bookshop.
"Our bright pink doors open on Wednesday 4th October at 10am sharp till 6pm.
"After that, our opening hours will be Wednesday - Sunday 10am - 5pm.

"We’re open an extra hour on opening day to give you lovely folks who may want to pop for a visit after work a chance to do so.
"See you all soon!"
Darlington MP Peter Gibson wished the store "all the best" as they prepare to open their new store, while residents reacted excitedly to the news.
One eager resident said: "Congratulations on this new venture and adventure! Looks like it is going to be amazing!"
Another pleased resident said: "I am so excited for this."
While another delighted resident said: "Oh my god! Buzzing."

Queerish Bookshop said the shop was looking forward to welcoming residents to see the final result of their efforts and browse its selection of books.
The owner of the shop said the pink triangle used in its decor is a reclaimed symbol of LGBTQ+ pride.
The shop will be open from 10am to 6pm on Wednesday, with its normal opening hours being 10am - 5pm Wednesday to Sunday.
