Cleveland Police are reaching out to anyone with information after a second arson attack has been linked to the fire in Hemlington.
A 33-year-old man has been arrested following the house fire on Dalcross Road, Hemlington.
The arson has been linked to an earlier fire in the area on September 27.
The man is still being held in police custody as police appeal for more information.

A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: "A 33-year-old man has been arrested after a report of a house fire on Dalcross Court, Hemlington, around 7.15am on Monday 2nd October.
"The man, who was arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life, remains in police custody at this time.
"An earlier fire, also on Dalcross Court, which took place around 10:45pm on Wednesday 27th September is being linked to the second fire.
"A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life in connection with the fire on 27th September and he is currently on bail whilst enquiries continue.
"Fortunately, no one was hurt as a result of either incident."

A fundraising page has been set up by Jade OBrien, said the mum-of-five had "lost everything" after a house on the street was set on fire.
It asked if anyone could give money to help the mother and her newborn baby and children aged 14, 13, 10, 7.
Ms O'Brien called the incident "anyone's worst nightmare" and said she would be grateful for any donation.
