A pub in Newcastle has been named among the best venues in the country for a pre-match pint.
Katie O’Brien’s Irish Tavern near the grounds of Newcastle United was ranked in fifth place in the “best pubs for a pre-match pint at every Premier League stadium” list.
Now the Premier League season is back in full swing, fans from around the globe will be making the journey to watch their favourite teams.
Let’s be honest, a pre-match pint is a key part of that routine and England is famous for some of the best city-centre pubs in the world.
Based on star rating and price, AceOdds found which pubs are the best-rated and have the cheapest pints within a thirty-minute walk of each stadium, to help fans decide which pubs to visit.
The experts have also ranked each club’s stadium by the number of pubs within a fifteen-minute walk for the ultimate fan experience.
What did the experts say about Newcastle’s St James’ Park?
Newcastle’s St James’ Park has over twice the amount of pubs nearby than any other Premier League stadium, according to research by AceOdds.
The experts added: “St. James’ Park, the home of Newcastle United, tops the list as the ultimate stadium for a pre-game drink in the Premier League.
“‘The Toon’ can offer 131 pubs to explore before or after the match and no other team's fans have such a wealth of choice at their disposal.”
