The Bradley Lowery Foundation has thanked football fans for their donations to the charity after a GoFundMe page set up in the wake of an incident at a Sheffield vs Sunderland game has raised more than £10,000.
The mother of former Sunderland mascot Bradley Lowery, Gemma Lowery, has thanked fans for their donations to her son's foundation following an incident that led to the arrest of two men.
A Sheffield fan held up a picture of young Bradley on his phone whilst his companion laughed in an apparent goading gesture after the Black Cats cinched the away game with a 3-0 win on Friday.

"I want to say a huge thank you to South Yorkshire police, SWFC, SWFC women’s supporters group for setting up a fundraiser (link below) to which will be using towards #superbradspad, and their amazing fans, you really have shown that Cancer Has No Colours, and that behaviour like this is not tolerated.
"Thank you all for your continued support."
Leanne Wood, who organised the fundraiser, said: "In light of the recent sickening images circulating from the football fixture between Sheffield Wednesday FC and Sunderland AFC at Hillsborough, on Friday, September 29, 2023, Sheffield Wednesday fans would like to raise funds for the Bradley Lowery Foundation to show our support and stand up against this type of behaviour in football."
