A group of talented Darlington ballerinas are set to take the big smoke by storm this weekend as they perform at the Royal Academy of Dance headquarters.
Dancers from the Tiffany School of Dance on Branksome Terrace, Darlington are London-bound today (Saturday, September 30) as they prepare to perform at the prestigious academy on Sunday, October 1.
The eight-strong group, named the Silver Swans, will take to the stage alongside groups of the same name from across the UK in what has been named the global Silver Swans' Celebration Day.

All dancers are aged over 55, and the initiative has been used to promote fitness and health using ballet in groups across the country since 2018 - Darlington's group began in 2019.
Famous members include HM Queen Consort Camilla and new Strictly star Angela Rippon.
Owner of the Tiffany School of Dance, Rachael Tiffany, spoke of how the group were invited to go to London for the weekend.
She said: "The Royal Academy of Dance sent out an invitation to all of the licenced Silver Swan teachers, as you have to do a course beforehand.
"They e-mailed us all to invite us to volunteer and perform there as it is a special Silver Swans celebration - there will be other groups coming from across the country.
"There will be classes, workshops and rehearsals all in a new purpose-built building on their stage. The leaders are invited to volunteer to take their group down there - that's how we got chosen to join that live performance."

Rachael added that for some of the ladies, the performance is a tad daunting.
She added: "Some of my ladies did dance as children and have done things like this before. But, some have only danced for a few years after beginning in their 60s.
"They are a bit nervous, but we are making a good weekend of it all."
