A new Mexican fusion offering is coming to Darlington Market next month just four months after owners' town centre restaurant opened.
Mexicana Fusion will be opening in Darlington Indoor Market in early October offering a selection of "delicious Mexican dishes."
The new venture is headed by owners Katie Miller and partner David Chadwick, who recently opened their House of Flavour restaurant on Duke Street four months ago.
The pair said the ongoing development and "vibe" of the market were among factors for opting to open at the venue operated by Market Asset Management (MAM).

Mr Chadwick said: "The food for Fusion Mexicana is going to be super fresh, traditional.
"Everything is cooked fresh. Everything's fresh to go. It is restaurant quality, street food.
"It's not full of grease, the idea of fusion is something a lot fresher. It's fresh from local suppliers, we’ll be prepping throughout the day and serving as we go.”
“There's great footfall and we loved how the venue was offering a lot of themed nights, live entertainment and live music. We will get some brand presence simply by being there.
“Just in general for Darlington, having somewhere where money is being spent to allow independent businesses to try and grow and develop is brilliant.
“There's not a lot of places where small start-ups get to do that. They've obviously built a small community down there and we can’t wait to be part of it.”

Mr Chadwick said he and Ms Miller cannot wait to be part of the "market’s family," and plan to bring their House of Flavour brand to multiple venues in various guises.
The menu includes Mexican-style pulled pork, smoky chipotle chicken and mixed bean chill burritos all stuffed with rice, black beans, cheese, lettuce.
Other options include Pico de Gallo topped with guacamole, salsa and sour cream.
This comes as part of Phase 3 of the market's plans to bring more artisans and traders in from November onwards.
This will include a continental and a British style deli, barbers, florist, traditional over-the-counter businesses, high-quality fashion, and delicious food, alongside long-established businesses such as family butchers David Jackson and fruit and vegetable business JJ Blair & Sons.

MAM's Darlington general manager, Michael Harvey said: "Such is the attraction of the market we have traders queuing up to join our family. We are at 100% capacity for our street food hall with many others on our waiting list.
“We are proud that we have created an environment and conditions allowing new businesses to start-up and thrive, it means some businesses grow, expand and in some cases move on to take up new premises on the high street etc but they do so with our blessing and are glad to have helped their journey.
“With the recent transformational work and the brilliant new boutiques and stalls coming under Phase 3, it is such an exciting time for the market and it is great to be welcoming Fusion Mexicana by House of Flavour who will only enhance the superb offering we have here and bolster our unflinching commitment to ensure the market is place people love to shop, eat, drink and be entertained.”
