Thousands of people braved the North Sea this morning (Sunday, September 24) to take part in the North East Skinny Dip at Druridge Bay.
The event takes place every year with proceeds donated to Tyneside and Northumberland MIND - a charity that 'provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem'.

Founder and organiser of the event Jax Higgerson said: "It is a celebration of life! Of nature! And of our own, unique, physical bodies! It's about taking a risk and embracing a moment of pure joy and freedom!"
Organisers also say that the health benefits of wild swimming are now better-understood thanks to recent research, which has found that there is a connection between the form of exercise and mental health.
