A new fish and chip shop in County Durham has opened to glowing reviews and the owners offering numerous deals on food.
Opening on Wednesday, September 13, The Miner's Plaice popped up on High Street in Willington - offering half price on all food, which led to people flocking to the new venue on opening day.
Now in its first couple of weeks of business, the half-price offer might not have remained but people's glowing reviews have been rolling in.

One person who tried the new fish and chip shop on opening day said: "An amazing meal - I'll definitely be coming back," while another satisfied diner added: "A proper fish and chip shop - you won't be disappointed if you go here."
Offering cod, haddock, fish cakes, corned beef patties, onion rings, and much more, The Miner's Plaice has become one of many fish and chips shops in County Durham.
Despite opening to rave reviews, it does have some competition, though.
Earlier this year, Bell's Fish and Chips, who have restaurants in Durham, Team Valley, and Washington, were named in the final three for best multiple operator at the National Fish and Chip Awards 2023.
