A person has died after being struck by a train in North Yorkshire.
British Transport Police have confirmed a person has died after being hit by a train on Friday (September 22).
They confirmed they were called to a casualty on the tracks at around 6.10pm.
They added paramedics attended, however, sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
A London North East Railway (LNER) spokesperson confirmed a person had been hit by a train in Northallerton.
They also confirmed all lines in the area are currently blocked.

A LNER spokesperson said: "It is with great sadness that we report that a person has been hit by a train at Northallerton.
"Lines in this area are currently blocked."
A YAS spokesperson said: "We got a call at 6:15pm this evening.
"We sent an ambulance and a rapid response vehicle. There was one patient."
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: "Our officers are on site at Northallerton along with colleagues from North Yorkshire Police and Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS)."
