With The Great British Bake Off’s new series starting in a few days time, you might be wondering who will impress the judges and what the winner will take home.
Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith will once again be judging the amateur bakers’ creations as a new batch of contestants take on the challenges.
After weeks of putting their skills to the test, what does the winner receive? The answer might surprise you.
What is the prize for winning The Great British Bake Off?
Unlike many other TV shows, there is no cash prize for the winning contestant on Bake Off.
The winner of Bake Off will receive a branded cake stand and a bouquet of flowers for their efforts.
However, the real prize for those contestants is what comes afterwards.
The status of having won the programme can give them opportunities to launch a new career, such as with writing cookbooks or making appearances on TV and radio, to even having their own show.
Previous winners such as Nadiya Hussein and current Strictly Come Dancing contestant John Whaite are just two examples to have gone onto greater things.
