These are the postcode areas in the North East and North Yorkshire where power could be switched off today.

Northern Powergrid has confirmed that hundreds of homes across parts of the region are expected to be affected by the switch-off on Wednesday (September 20).

The power is being switched off temporarily in planned works so that the utility company can carry out repairs in the specified areas.

It comes as some planned power cuts in the region, due to take place yesterday, were cancelled.

The work from Northern Powergrid is not unusual and follows a similar pattern from all utility companies, who often carry out work to improve the network.

However, some on the list (listed below) will have unplanned outages, which Northern Powergrid say they will sort "as soon as possible".

The list below is taken from the Northern Powergrid directly.

If your household has not yet received advanced communication about a planned power cut, you are not scheduled to see your supply cut off.

In the North East and North Yorkshire, the following postcodes will see power restored by 8am after some homes will be cut off at around 2.30am:

  • TS6 9NT
  • TS6 9EA
  • TS6 9EQ
  • TS6 9NS
  • TS6 9LT
  • TS6 9DB
  • TS6 9DT
  • This will impact around 50 homes.

In the North East and North Yorkshire, the following postcodes will see power restored by 4pm after some homes will be cut off at around 8am:

  • TS21 1JS
  • TS21 1JJ
  • TS21 1JH
  • TS21 1JN

  • This will impact around 100 homes.

In the North East and North Yorkshire, the following postcodes will see power restored by 9.30am after some homes will be cut off at around 8.30am:

  • NE18 0AQ
  • NE18 0AG
  • NE18 0AF
  • This will impact around 120 homes.

In the North East and North Yorkshire, the following postcodes will see power restored by 4.30pm after some homes will be cut off at around 9am:

  • DL13 4NL
  • DL13 4QQ
  • DL13 4NW
  • DL13 4NN
  • Around 70 homes will be impacted.

In the North East and North Yorkshire, the following postcodes will see power restored by 4.30pm after some homes were cut off at around 9.30am:
