Six motorists have been named and fined in court after being caught speeding in County Durham.
The cases were heard at Peterlee Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, September 12.
Michael Lee Marsden, 43, of Catherine Terrace, Annfield Plain, near Stanley, was driving a Vauxhall when he exceeded the 30mph limit in ShieldRow Lane, New Kyo, on February 14. He pleaded guilty and was fined £80.00.
He was also ordered to pay a £32 surcharge, along with £90 costs and his licence was endorsed with 4 points.
Peng Xing, 23, of Raven Road, Gateshead was driving an Aston Martin when caught exceeding the 70 mph motorway limit on the A1(M) at the Cocken Road (Finchale/Leamside) Overbridge, Durham on January 234. A plea of guilty was recorded. Magistrates imposed a fine of £300, along with a £120 surcharge and costs of £90.
A driving ban of six months was also imposed.
Darren Woolley, 41 of Lapwing Road, Kidsgrove, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, was caught exceeding the 30mph speed limit while driving a Vauxhall on the B1283 Hall Walks, at Easington Village on February 2. He was fined £220 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £88 along with costs of £90.
His licence was endorsed with 3 points.
Marzena Wojinska Zemlo, 33 of Lumsden Terrace, Stanley, was caught exceeding the 30mph limit while driving a Mercedes at nearby Leadgate on February 11.
She pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined £293. Magistrates imposed a further £117 surcharge and costs of £90, while endorsing her licence with 4 points.
Gary Shelton, 40, of Hounsfield Road, Rotherham, exceed 70 mph motorway limit on the A1(M) between the Bowburn and Bradbury interchanges while driving his BMW on March 7.
The case was found proved under the Single Justice. He was fined £220, ordered to pay a surcharge of £88 and costs of £90. His driving record was endorsed with 3 points. (fine and cost 398).

Simon James Telford, 47, of Stonycroft, Washington, Sunderland, was driving a Vauxhall when he exceeded the 70 mph motorway on the A1(M), between Bowburn and Carrville, on February 24th. The charge was proved under Single Justice Procedure.
He was fined £660.00, ordered to pay a surcharge of £264 and costs of £90. His driving record endorsed with 6 points.
