Motorists are being made aware of a series of road closures in place in Darlington this week.

It is not unusual for road works to take place across Darlington, with the impact of many being quite minor.

However, some of these works are resulting in some disruption to traffic flow in the town, with some even resulting in full road closures.

Here’s a full list of road closures and major road works taking place in Darlington this week:

Hundens Lane, Darlington

Gas works will cause disruption on Hundens Lane in Darlington from the junction of Yarm Road to Haughton Road. Work will be ongoing until November 6.

Northgate, Darlington

Lane closure on Northgate from the junction of Chestnut Street to outside Northgate United Reformed Church for gas works until October 9.

Northgate Roundabout

Lane closure for repairs no North Gateround about to the side of the shopping centre.

Feethams Roundabout

Works inbetween the junction of Victoria Road and the Feethams Roundabout from September 18 to 21 for the installation of a new telecoms pole and cabling.

Woodland Road

Gasworks outside 11 Woodland Road and until September 22 and the installation of new power cables opposite the entrance to Stanhope Road North.

Multi-way traffic lights outside Pierremont Road due to BT works.

Excavation work in the footpath outside West Auckland Road by BT.

Staindrop Road

Works outside 87 Staindrop Road by Northumbrian Water to lay new pipes.

Haughton Road

Gas works on Haughton Road outside number 380 to 368 by Northern gas. Works from September 12 to 22.

A167 Grange Road

Works from the Parkside junction to Reg Vardy with two-way signals in place on September 19 and 20.

Neasham Road

Works will be ongoing at a “hazardous site” on Neasham Road by BT.

Yarm Road

There will be some holes dug and resurfaced on Yarm Road from outside number 95 to 61 by Northern Gas.

The Broadway

Works on The Broadway from number 27 to 42 The Crossway from September 18 to October 9 by Northern Gas.
