A motorcyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries following a crash with a car in County Durham last night (Thursday, September 15), police have confirmed.
The 50-year-old Kawasaki rider was involved in a collision with a Hyundai I10 on the junction of the A177 and B1278 at Sedgefield, at about 5.20pm.

The Great North Air Ambulance landed at the scene, while an ambulance crew and clinical team leader were also dispatched.
Police officers, who arrived in a number of patrol cars, closed off the road while they dealt with the incident.
A Durham Police spokesperson said today (Friday): "We were called to reports of a road traffic collision between a Hyundai I10 car and a Kawasaki motorbike on the A177 just after 5.20pm last night (September 14).
"The motorbike rider – a man in his 50s – was seriously injured and taken to James Cook University Hospital.
"The road was closed for several hours and reopened just before 11pm."

A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of a road traffic collision on the junction of the A177 and B1278 in Sedgefield at 5.20pm this evening (14 September).
"We dispatched one ambulance crew and a clinical team leader and requested support from Great North Air Ambulance Service.
"One patient was transported by road to James Cook Hospital for further treatment."
