Northern Echo readers have shared their favourite North East businesses, with diverse options from quaint coffee shops to handy dog care services garnering praise.
The Darlington-based The Hoptimist, a beloved local alehouse, was highlighted by several readers for its exceptional customer service.

"Hoptimist bar is fantastic and staff go above and beyond" raved Greg Smith, echoing similar sentiments expressed by fellow respondents.
Mi Puptisserie, presumably a bakery for our four-legged friends, also received a shoutout, as did Luxury Pads for Paws, a dog care service.
Top fan, Lesley White, praised The Green Tree in Tudhoe Village, calling out both its amazing staff and delectable food.
Similarly, Window to the Womb Darlington, a baby scanning service, was recommended by Natalie Jackson.
In the realm of self-care, Sarah Ansbro's Luxury Pads for Paws and Tracy Grainger's The Nail House emerged as top picks.
B-Beau Beauty also received a nod from Laura Richardson.
When asked about her favourite place, Julie Burnham suggested The Savoury Cafe, while Peter Aydon sang the praises of Daisy Rose Coffee Shop in Belmont for its lovely bakery.
West Auckland's community support service, The Well, recognised by Trina Trig Peairs was singled out for its commendable work.
"The Well in West Auckland is totally there to help the community" she wrote.
The region's diverse gourmet options also earned applause with Emma Bennett declaring her love for Emma's Cheesecakes, and foodies Julie Henderson and Becka Allen raving about SALT and CuriosiTeas Play Cafe respectively.
Enthusiast, Andrea Lane, praised AJ Grabaway as "100% the best in the North East," while Neal Gray adored Hydes Bar in Norton.
Not surprisingly, given the region's rich tradition of brewing, several readers spotlighted local breweries.
"George Samuel Brewery Ltd and McColl's Brewery are keeping our thirst quenched with lovely brews and the Canteen serving our delicious breakfast weekend treat," shared Amanda Scaife.
Beauty services like High Brow Bar, recognised by Sara Hardy, and Charlton's Florist, lauded by Karen Turner also found a spot on the list.
For retail therapy, several readers endorsed Cupcake Boutique Cake Store and Wild Child UK, among others.
Not to be outdone, various handyperson services like the veteran-owned ARG Coatings, and alloy refurbs in Darlington hailed by Nikita Whotton, and Stanley F.
Cutter Ltd, crane fixers praised by Neil Thompson stood out.
Lastly, the Dunelm Veterinary Group received a special mention for their service during the pandemic.
