A person has been taken to hospital following a crash involving a motorcycle in County Durham this evening (Thursday, September 14).
Emergency services were alerted to a road traffic collision on the junction of the A177 and B1278 at Sedgefield, at about 5.20pm.
The Great North Air Ambulance landed at the scene, while an ambulance crew and clinical team leader were also dispatched.
Police officers, who arrived in a number of patrol cars, closed off the road while they dealt with the incident.
Photographs from the scene show a motorcycle lying on the ground and at least one car with damage.
A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of a road traffic collision on the junction of the A177 and B1278 in Sedgefield at 5.20pm this evening (14 September).

"We dispatched one ambulance crew and a clinical team leader and requested support from Great North Air Ambulance Service.
"One patient was transported by road to James Cook Hospital for further treatment."
Durham Police have been contacted for more information.
