A family firm from Teesside is eyeing up national expansion after a 'priceless' merger.
Investment experts LJC Capital has added Orchid Kitchens and Bedrooms to its rapidly expanding portfolio of businesses.
Founded by the Lane family, the Middlesbrough-based company has designed and installed kitchens and bedrooms throughout the region for five decades. However, the firm now has a vision to grow beyond the North East.
“This deal puts Orchid in a position to grow nationally from a base in Teesside, and that is fantastic news for the area and for all involved,” said Orchid’s Ciaron Lane.
“When the Orchid family launched the company in 1979, the aim was to provide exceptional service across Teesside. Over 40 years later, it has become a trusted and established business throughout the local area but this deal enables us to flourish further afield.
“It is an exciting merger, and one that truly has the potential to take Orchid to the next level.”
The merger, for an undisclosed sum, adds yet another string to the bow of Redcar-based LJC Capital’s fast-growing fleet of firms.
It was formed with the aim of building a group of companies that shared the common goal of delivering first class products, services and investments.
And LJC Capital’s director, Sid McAuley, said Orchid was a “perfect fit” for the investment firm.
“We looked at several businesses and it very quickly become apparent that Orchid was a perfect fit for us due to the passion within the business,” he said.
“The value of a family run business is something that we value greatly. As a group, we feel it adds so much value, as does Orchid’s superb reputation. Over the years, the company has gained a fantastic reputation for offering both quality products and service, and the reviews are consistently excellent.

“That’s why, short term, we take the view that if it isn’t broken then it doesn’t need fixing, and we will carry on providing the same professional service to every client.
“Long term, the goal is to take the business national with multiple strategically placed showrooms to enable growth while maintaining the quality, service and values that made Orchid a trusted name on Teesside. Each branch would also see the other services the group offer in the same showroom to give the clients’ the best options for a turnkey service.”
“It will be a pleasure to see Orchid flourish with our support.”
