A North East school has been forced to close on Tuesday (September 12) due to a power cut hitting the main building.
Making the announcement this morning, Barnard Grove Primary School in Hartlepool will close this morning and has urged parents to wait for more updates about how long it will be shut.
According to Northern Powergrid, around 2,500 properties in Teesside were impacted by a power cut this morning.

Despite thousands of those impacted now being reconnected to the main grid, the school has taken the decision to message parents.
In a short message to parents, the school said: "Due to a power cut, the school will not open to pupils this morning. We will keep you updated with any further information as we get it."
On the Northern Powergrid website, there are still around 250 properties not connected to the main grid, but, on current estimates, they are all meant to be reconnected by 11.30.
