Excitement is building for a brand new Halloween-themed crazy golf course coming to Wensleydale, North Yorkshire, soon.

The 18-hole course is covered in creepy creatures from headless horsemen to ghostly pirates.

Everything is being carefully set up by events company, Incredible Artists, from the lighting to the sounds that will be heard.

Going round the North Yorkshire course as a family is estimated to take about one hour.

Dawn Turner, a worker at the company, explained that the course will be even better than the one they held during lockdown.

She said: "The previous experience we did was great fun, and everyone really enjoyed it, but there were obvious limitations as to what we could do within lockdown. With those limitations now no longer an issue, this year’s Halloween is going to be on a whole other level.

"We wanted something more interactive than just walking around, looking at spooky tableaus, and also something that both adults and children could enjoy together. Halloween Crazy Golf seemed like the perfect solution.

"The course will consist of 18 spookily themed holes.

"We wouldn’t want to spoil the surprise, but expect to see all kinds of chilling things, from a headless horseman to singing skeletons, to ghost pirates.

"We appreciate that times are tough for a lot of people at the moment.

"It’s not easy keeping children occupied during the school holidays, so we’ve created something that is going to be good value and not done and dusted in a few minutes."

The course will be at Uredale Mill in Askrigg and it will be open through the autumn half term from October 27 to November 5.

Tickets are available for £10 for an adult, £8 for a child and £35 for a family of four.

Dawn added: "It’s not just children and families that we are looking to appeal to.

"Crazy golf is just as much fun for groups of adults.

"It’s not compulsory, but it’s a great opportunity for fancy dress, so whether it’s Dracula or Casper the Friendly Ghost, we’re hoping people will come along and enjoy a ‘Fangtastic’ Halloween."
