Floods have affected a County Durham supermarket after torrential rain swept across the region this afternoon.
Water was seen seeping down the aisles at the Asda store in Stanley.
It comes as roads across the area were submerged as drains were unable to cope with the sheer volume of water.

A spokeswoman for Asda said: "Due to heavy rainfall, our Stanley Superstore has experienced some flooding this afternoon.
"As a result, we were forced to close the store early.
"We apologise for any inconvenience caused and we are working hard to be able to reopen the store as normal tomorrow.”
