If you’re one of the thousands of participants who are taking part in the Great North Run 2024 then you might fancy a pint in the pub afterwards.
The biggest half-marathon in the world will return once again today(September 8).
Among the general public, celebrities such as Strictly Come Dancing and Dragon’s Den star Sara Davies will be running for County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust Charity.
Aside from trying to get a glimpse of the famous faces taking part, it's after the race when all you want is a drink and a bit of food.
And, for that, you're in luck. We've scouted out seven pubs in South Shields that you can visit after finishing The Great North Run.
While we can't guarantee how busy they will be on the day, with 60,000 taking part, we can only recommend the pubs nearby to the finish line.
This list is of course not exhaustive and there are plenty of other places around South Shields and beyond, but if you're tired on your feet, this lot might be the best bet.
As usual, the Great North Run will end at Coast Road in South Shields.
