A police cordon is in place and crime scene investigators are on the scene after a man was shot at a housing estate in Stockton.
Police have cordoned off the whole of Tilery Estate, in Norton, following an incident in the early hours of the morning today (Friday, September 8) that saw a man shot on Tilery Road.
A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and he remains in police custody at this time.
Much of Tilery Road and Tilery shops are behind police cordons, with the estate's residents unable to retrieve their cars without police help.

Crime Scene Investigators in hazmat suits descended on the estate around 5.30 am this morning to collect evidence, and uniformed officers remain in Norton this afternoon.
Officers will also be conducting high-visible patrols in the area to provide reassurance to the community.
Now police are appealing for any witnesses, or anyone with additional information, to come forward and help with their appeals.

A statement from Cleveland Police said: "Police were called to reports that a man had been shot on Tilery Road in Stockton at around 3.30am this morning (8th September).
"One man is being treated in hospital with injuries that are not thought to be life-threatening.
"A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and he remains in police custody at this time.
"A cordon has been erected in the area and this will remain in place whilst investigations continue.
"Officers will also be conducting high-visible patrols in the area to provide reassurance to the community.
