A North East artist has created a free walking tour map of a coastline featured in one of the Vera book series as well as an episode of the hit ITV show.
Fans of the famous character DCI Vera Stanhope now have the chance to follow along in her footsteps with a walking tour of Whitley Bay based on one of the novels by Anne Cleeves.
Artist Nicola Young is the person behind the map, designed around the events that take place in the book series as well as the show.

The map, which is free to download online at Bay Tales, shows locations from The Seagull – the eighth book in the Vera Stanhope series that was adapted to television for season 9, episode 4 of the ITV drama.
The walk will take fans from Vera’s favourite fish and chip shop, Pantrini’s all the way to St Mary’s Wetland that has been featured in the TV series.
Here’s an interactive map showing you all of the locations you can head to.

This map comes just weeks after Brenda Blethyn and the ITV Vera crew were spotted on Redcar seafront filming for the upcoming series.
The crew were pictured busy filming the show's 13th series at 6am on August 22 at Redcar Esplanade, with the road also being closed off to motorists.
Brenda Blethyn was spotted outside playland amusements as they appeared to be filming inside a fish and chip shop.
