When you have completed the Great North Run 2023, you might want to fuel up on a delicious meal or hope to tuck into something tasty to celebrate.
Whether you are planning on eating a stacked burger, a heaped bowl of pasta or a stone-baked pizza, there are lots of restaurants to choose from in Newcastle.
But there is one venue offering a free meal to those who have finished the Great North Run this year and participants are in for a treat.
Enjoy a free meal after the Great North Run 2023 in Newcastle
Gaucho Newcastle is offering runners the chance to dine in for a complimentary succulent steak, with a choice of sides and sauces.
The offer will be on from September 10 to September 14 and will be available at all times throughout each day.
The special meaty deal will be a premium cut of Chorizo 250g - Gaucho’s most tender and succulent Argentinian, Black Angus steak.
To redeem this offer, guests can quote ‘Marathon Steak’ in the booking notes and present their ‘Newcastle Great North Run’ medal on arrival.
On Tripadvisor, Gaucho Newcastle has a current rating of 4/5.
One family who had visited for a celebratory meal said: “We visited here for my son’s graduation celebration meal and we were all blown away by the outstanding service from the moment we walked in. All of our needs were met and the staff were a credit to the company at all levels.”
What time does the Great North Run 2023 start?
The Great North Run will begin from Newcastle, through Gateshead and finish in South Shields on September 10.
The start times for the different running events are as follows:
- Elite Wheelchair race start – 10.30am
- Elite Women start – 10.35am
- Visually impaired race start – 10.37am
- Elite Men and MASSES waves start – 11am
The Great North Run website advises: "The start and assembly areas are located on Central Motorway.
“Follow the signs to your assembly area which corresponds to the colour/letter on your run number.
“Make sure you’re in your assembly area for 10.45am.”
