Around 60 premises have been hit by a power cut today forcing some businesses to close until tomorrow.
60 premises on Coniscliffe Road and Skinnergate have been left without electricity today (September 2) following a power cut .
According to Northern Powergrid, residents can expect power to return by 9pm today.

They said the issue has been caused by has been caused by an "unexpected problem with the cables or equipment" serving the area.
A spokesperson for ORB Micropub confirmed they had been forced to close for the night due to the outage.
They said: "As we’re sure most people are aware, we’re closed this evening.
"Power cut. Nightmare.
"Hopefully everything will be sorted for tomorrow.
"Open at 2pm. Cheers!"
Many other businesses and restaurants in the area have also reportedly been hit by the outage.
