Cleveland Police are appealing for witnesses after two men were assaulted with weapons in Thornaby town centre. 

Four men have been arrested in connection with the incident aged 16, 19, 24 and 46.

The incident took place on Stephenson Road at 3.40pm on Friday (Aug 25).

The victims, aged 33 and 34, were attacked with weapons and one had to have hospital treatment afterwards.

A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: "Detectives are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information who they have not already spoken with to come forward in connection with an assault on two men.

"The incident happened around 3:40pm on Friday 25th August on Stephenson Street, Thornaby, when a 33-year-old man and a 34-year-old man were assaulted with weapons.

"One man received treatment at hospital and was later released.

"Four males aged 16, 19, 24 and 46 have been arrested in connection with the incident.
