Cleveland mountain rescue teams were mobilised after a man fell 70 feet near Sutton Bank beauty spot.
The hiker had fallen a significant distance down one of the embankments of the Cleveland Way.
Mountain rescue volunteers were dispatched and upon arrival, they quickly set up a technical rope rescue system to get emergency workers safely down the embankment to him.
It was a difficult operation due to the dense vegetation on the embankment.

Once the team reached him they helped him back up the slope using ropes.
A Cleveland Mountain Rescue spokesperson said: "After an unusually quiet summer for Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team, they were contacted by the Yorkshire Ambulance Service just before lunchtime on Saturday 26th August 2023, following a report that a man had fallen a significant distance down an embankment.
"He had fallen from one of the paths which runs below the Cleveland Way as it loops around the Yorkshire Gliding Club airfield.
"A Team Land Rover with five members on board was dispatched from our Base.
"After an initial assessment of the casualty’s injuries by the paramedics, the mountain rescue team set up a technical rope rescue system to allow their members to get down through the undergrowth to reach him, approximately 70-feet from the path from which he had fallen.
"Access was difficult due to the thick, overgrown vegetation on the hillside.
"From there, using the rope system, the rescuers were able to slowly walk the casualty back up the hillside to the path and then he was walked further up to join the main path before being taken to the waiting ambulance for onward treatment at hospital.
"The mountain rescue volunteers wished him well for his recovery and wanted to record their thanks to everyone at the Gliding Club for their assistance."
In total, 14 members of the Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team attended during the two hour operation.
The Yorkshire Air Ambulance and North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue were also in attendance.
