Two police dogs have been applauded after sniffing out two criminals, with one reportedly wearing a Kevlar vest and armed with an axe.
On Saturday, August 19, PD Odin assisted officers in tracking a man wanted for offences including domestic violence and affray.
Police believed the man was at an address in Chester-le-Street, wearing a Kevlar vest and armed with an axe.
PD Odin was deployed to the back of the address where the wanted man was quickly arrested by officers after being seized by the police dog.
The 28-year-old was arrested on suspicion of assault, sexual assault, intentional strangulation, affray and criminal damage.
On the same day, police received reports of a suspected stolen van with cloned plates parked outside an address in Durham.

A man in his 50s was arrested at the scene on suspicion of a motor vehicle.
But on further detective work from PD Harley, he was further arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply drugs when some concealed substances were sniffed out of the address.
These included suspected crack cocaine, cannabis, white tablets and drug paraphernalia.
