Darlington councillors are calling for vigilance after six bus shelters were smashed in one month.
The damage has taken place across the town.
During the last month, there have been incidents on North Road, Neasham Road, Whinfield Road, Woodland Road and Victoria Road.
For every pane of glass smashed in the vandalism, the council must pay £80 to repair it.

“It’s not only a waste of taxpayers’ money but is dangerous and could lead to people being injured on the broken glass.
“We’d urge everyone to be vigilant when they’re out and about and report any incidents of anti-social behaviour like this either to us or the police.
“If you see anything happening anywhere in town, let us know, either online at www.darlington.gov.uk/asb or call civic enforcement on 40699 or the police on 101 or online at Durham Police.”
