A man's body has been found in a Darlington river yesterday morning.
Durham Police have confirmed they were called to reports of a body in the River Skerne, near the Five Arches bridge, Darlington, shortly before 7am on Monday (August 21).
The man was confirmed dead at the scene.

They confirmed enquiries are ongoing and the man's death is currently being treated as unexplained.
A Durham Police spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of a body in the River Skerne, near the Five Arches bridge, in Darlington, shortly before 7am yesterday morning.
"Sadly, the man was confirmed dead at the scene.
"Enquiries are ongoing and his death is currently being treated as unexplained."
North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) confirmed they had received reports of a person in the water in the River Skerne at 6:53am.

They said they deployed paramedic ambulance, our hazardous area response team (HART) crews and a clinical team leader to the scene.
A NEAS spokesperson said: "We received a call at 06.53 today (21 AUG) to reports of a person in the water in the River Skerne.
"We dispatched a paramedic ambulance, our hazardous area response team (HART) crews and a clinical team leader to support the police and fire and rescue service at the scene."
