A police drone helped chase down a nuisance go kart rider as he tried to flee across fields in Darlington over the weekend.

The drone was returning from a successful search for a high-risk missing person when the errant rider was spotted in the Red Hall area of the town.

A Durham Police spokesperson said: “As the officers were bringing the aircraft back to their launch site in Red Hall, they spotted a petrol go kart being a nuisance.
