Six people have been arrested after a break in at a County Durham Post Office was thwarted by police officers.
At around 2.55am on Tuesday (August 15), officers from Durham Police were alerted to a break in at Leadgate Post Office.
Several officers attended the scene to track the people responsible for the break in, including dog units and other specialist teams.

One of the dog team that was involved was PD Buddy and his handler, who has been praised for helping to catch those that broke into the Post Office.
Just minutes after the call came in, six people – two females and four males - were arrested on suspicion of burglary and taken to police custody.
Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
