The rain couldn't even break the spirits of the hundreds of people that turned up to celebrate Darlington Pride 2023 on Saturday (August 12) - as crowds danced in the street with an amazing show of unity.
Taking place in previous years, this year's event was determined to be bigger and better than ever, and managed to deliver.
Starting with a Pride Parade from the Market Place, hundreds of people dressed in rainbow flags and every colour of the rainbow took to the streets of Darlington in a true carnival atmosphere.

Despite the torrential rain downpour, it didn't phase the masses of people that had arrived to support the event, including the police, fire service, community groups from the town, as well as Darlington MP Peter Gibson.
Walking to a backing tune of 'It's Raining Men,' courtesy of the brilliant brass band, the parade was followed by live performances, food and drink and fun for all of the family.
There were also food stalls, while numerous businesses in the Market Place got into the festival-style atmosphere.
Later on, performances from Voices of Darlington, Starstruck: The Ultimate Years & Years Tribute Show, Niqi Brown as Tina Turner, Rogue Minogue Productions, Kyla Porter, and Shades Collective dazzled the crowds, before the event wrapped up at 6pm.
