A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital with head, arm and leg injuries after a serious crash involving a car on Saturday (August 12) afternoon.

Cleveland Police and the North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) attended the crash on Redhill Road in Roseworth at around 3.16pm, following reports of a serious crash.

Pictures from the scene show emergency service vehicles and a cordon in place.

Police closed the road and urged drivers to find an alternative route.

The ambulance service has since confirmed a motorcyclist suffered leg, arm and head injuries in the crash.

A spokesprson for NEAS said: "We were called at 3.16pm today (August 12) to a road traffic collision involving a motorcyclist near the church on Rottingdean Close and Redhill Road. We dispatched a paramedic ambulance crew, a doctor and a clinical team leader.

"They treated the motorcyclist for head, arm and leg injuries before taking him to James Cook Hospital."

Cleveland Police confirmed the crash also involved a car, by putting out a statement earlier today that read: "Emergency services are currently at the scene of a serious collision on Ragpath Lane, Redhill Road, Stockton. The incident happened at 3.18pm and involved a car and a motorcycle. The road is closed and drivers are urged to avoid the area."
