Three new shops are set to open and one store is planned to have a significant expansion at a North East retail park after proposals for the works were revealed this morning (August 11).
Frasers Group, who is involved with Teesside Park, near Stockton and Middlesbrough, revealed on Friday that two new leases have been signed at the shopping centre - which will see big moves for four individual retailers.
Under the plans, Sports Direct will double in size to 40,000sq ft and feature both a GAME and Evans Cycles, alongside a 20,000sq ft FLANNELS that will open following a comprehensive refurbishment of the existing Sports Direct space.

Following the announcement, Catherine Furlong, centre director at Teesside Park, said: “There’s been a wealth of new openings confirmed over the past 12 months and this is another major announcement for us.
"Flannels has a fantastic luxury brand portfolio, while the expansion of Sports Direct means their store will be bigger and better than ever. We can’t wait for the doors to open on the new stores - it’s a very exciting period for Teesside Park and our visitors!”
While Frasers hasn't indicated an exact month the new stores will be open, it has pinpointed late 2024 for when they will open.

Darren Richards, head of real estate at British Land, added: “These new lettings across our regional retail portfolio clearly demonstrate the strength of the retail park format and Meadowhall’s appeal as a super-regional centre.
"These brands are successfully evolving to meet the ever-changing demands of the consumer, and we look forward to working closely with Frasers Group as it continues to roll out its Elevation Strategy.”
