Music lovers are in for a treat in County Durham this weekend as a popular park turns into what they have called a “mini Wembley” for the day – here’s all the details.
Spennymoor’s Party in the Park returns tomorrow (August 11) at Jubilee Park, organised by Spennymoor Town Council.
Tribute acts performing songs by big stars including the likes of Adele, The Killers, Harry Styles and Madness are all on the line-up after last year’s party attracted 5,000 people.

The whole day will be hosted by well-known North East radio presenter Paul “Goffy” Gough, with gates opening at 5:30pm, lasting until 11pm.
For Town Mayor, Cllr Ian Geldard, the day is a chance for the whole community in Spennymoor to come together.
Mayor Geldard said: “Spennymoor does parties properly and the Party in The Park has been a huge success in the years we have staged it.
“While the Council funds it and the artists performing create it, it is the people who make it so special – creating an atmosphere like no other.
“It is one of the events that I genuinely look forward to and judging by some of the comments we receive from attendees, it’s very much valued by the people living in Spennymoor and the communities that surround the town.”
For families with little ones, free inflatables will be available as well as some street food vendors and a licensed bar.

Mayor Geldard added: “Come for the music, stay for the hotdogs! Party in the Park is the perfect summer family day out.
“The music is great, there is tons for the kids to do and the park is looking spectacular thanks to the work of the Council grounds staff... we’d love to see as many people there enjoying themselves as possible.”
For those driving, you can enter from Dundas Street and Carr Lane only.
