A drug dealer who was found with heroin, cocaine and other drug paraphernalia when his car was stopped has been jailed.
David Pick was stopped by officers in a Ford Mondeo, in Ferryhill, in July 2021 where suspected heroin and cocaine, more than £400 in cash and other drug paraphernalia were found on him and in the vehicle.
Officers then proceeded to search the 44-year-old’s home where more drugs and other items used in drug dealing were recovered, Durham Crown Court was told.
The substances were forensically examined and identified as heroin and cocaine.
Pick, of Ferryhill, was charged with two counts of possessing a Class A drug with intent to supply.
He pleaded guilty when he appeared at crown court and was sentenced to a total of 40 months in prison.
The drugs will also be destroyed.
Ferryhill Neighbourhood Policing Team Sergeant, Pete Newman, said: “Drugs bring misery to our communities and we will always do everything we can do intercept criminal activity associated with them to keep residents safe.”
