A woman dining at a Darlington restaurant was moved when a fellow female diner left her a note.

Anna Reed took to social media to share her experience after eating at Tomahawk Steak House in Darlington town centre last night (Tuesday, August 8).

She posted in the Facebook group, You Know You’re From Darlo When, to express thanks to the woman who left the note.

The post read: “I was dining in Tomahawk in Darlington tonight, and I’m hoping to find the girl who left me this note on my table, she is also the same girl who paid for my drinks in which I didn’t know about until the bill was brought.

“I want to find her to be able to say a huge thank you and hopefully reach out to her personally.”

The note read: “You're too pretty for a man that won't put down his phone during dinner.

“Remember your worth.”

The post has garnered a lot of attention online, with over 150 comments and over 60 shares at the time of publication.

The diner who left the woman the note also paid for her drinks as a gesture of goodwill.

Having clearly struck a chord with other people regarding rude behaviour while dining, everyone commenting agreed it is rude to spend an evening out with a partner and spend an excessive amount of time on your phone.
