A man and woman who are accused of being in control of a dog that attacked another dog and a person on a North East beach have appeared in court.
John Pickering and Nicola Banks appeared at Teesside Magistrates' Court on Friday following an alleged incident on February 5.
The incident, which took place at Redcar Beach, allegedly saw the pair in control of 'XL bulldogs' that attacked another dog.

On the court listings, the charges read: "On February 5, 2023, at Redcar together, were in charge of two dogs, namely XL bulldogs, which were dangerously out of control on Redcar beach and whilst so out of control injured another dog and another person."
According to the Crime Service, the case was sent to Teesside Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing. The pair will appear on September 4.
Pickering, 50, of Eastwood Road, Middlesbrough, and Banks, 38, of Woodcock Close, Middlesbrough, were granted unconditional bail until the next hearing.
