Thousands flocked to Darlington today (August 6) to participate in the 36th annual Darlington 10K running race.
More than a thousand people took to the start line across three races - Fun Run, 3K and 10K - with many running for local running clubs or raising money for charities.
Chris Corr, the owner of Crafty Merlin's MicroPub, in Buckton's Yard, ran the 10K for mental health charity CALM and raised about £400.
After the race, he put a spread on at his pub, for fellow runners and supporters to quench their thirst with a pint and sate their hunger with a homemade sausage roll.
Chris said: "I really encourage anyone thinking about signing up just to go for it. It's really not as hard as you think - and even if you have to walk a couple of sections (like I did today - it's a brilliant thing to do for your mental health and your physical health."
Chris, a former rugby player, admits that he "isn't really built for running", but said: "Something like a 10K is a really great challenge to set yourself.
"I did the run two years ago - I didn't do well, but I did manage to finish!
"Especially when the event is really well run, it's just a really nice thing to do."
