A NORTH Yorkshire day nursery has been rated ‘Good’ in all the key areas by Ofsted, with the inspector noting the ‘enjoyment’ and ‘happiness’ of the children who attend.
This was Baldersby Park Montessori Nursery School’s first-ever Ofsted inspection, and the early years setting passed with flying colours, having been rated Good for the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management.
The report highlighted the “very positive behaviour” of the children and their high levels of engagement throughout the day.
Staff were also praised for their “focused teaching” being “highly qualified” and for the way they embrace ongoing training.
The report goes on to say: “Staff have a clear curriculum for children which helps them to build secure foundations for their learning. They are good role models and offer lots of praise.
“The manager has established good partnerships with other professionals and parents. Teachers visit the nursery to help children prepare to move on. This has a positive impact on children's emotional well-being.
“Parents are keen to provide feedback about the nursery. They say staff are incredible and they have seen a big difference in their children's development.”
The only area noted by the inspector which would further the improve the quality of the early years provision at Baldersby Park was to enhance the information gathered when children first join the nursery.
Baldersby Park Montessori School Headteacher/Owner, Victoria Pollitt, said: “We are absolutely delighted with the outcome of our first-ever Ofsted report.
“It demonstrates we are a well-run nursery, with an excellent staff team who are dedicated to providing the best possible experience for the children as they progress through their early years learning journey.
“We would also like to thank our amazing parents and families who provide such amazing support.”
The Ofsted report comes just weeks after Baldersby Park Montessori Nursery School became one of three nurseries in North Yorkshire to make list of top 20 recommended nurseries in the Yorkshire and Humber region, as compiled by the UK’s leading nursery review website, www.daynurseries.co.uk
