An investigation has been launched after a vehicle crashed into a sign near a North East roundabout.
Police confirmed they received a report of a one-vehicle collision on Salters Lane in Shotton Colliery at around 6:15am on Saturday (July 29).
They said the driver abandoned their car following the crash and was gone by the time they arrived.

Durham Police have confirmed an investigation is now ongoing.
A Durham Police spokesperson said: "Police were called at around 6.15am on Saturday (July 29) to reports of a one vehicle collision in Shotton Colliery.
"The driver abandoned the vehicle prior to police arrival.
"An investigation is now ongoing."
Pictures of the scene showed a car having collided with a sign left at the side of the road.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Collision Unit on 101 quoting incident number 108 of July 29.
