Newton Aycliffe magistrates
A man has appeared in court following a suspected robbery in Ferryhill at the weekend.
A woman allegedly had her handbag stolen in Church Lane in the village at around 10.50am on Sunday.
Durham Police said officers arrested a man yesterday (Monday) in connection with the incident.
Glen Wayman, 47, was subsequently charged with robbery.

Mr Wayman, of Kelvin Street, Ferryhill, appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court today (Tuesday, August 1).
He did not enter a plea and is next expected to appear at Durham Crown Court on September 1 at 10am.
