*UPDATE: Christopher Shepherd has been found safe and well
An urgent search is ongoing for a 74-year-old man after he walked out of his Scarborough care home.
Christopher Shepherd, 74, was last seen at 11.15 pm on Saturday night (July 29) by staff at his car home.
He is known to travel to Whitby, Middlesbrough, and Northallerton utilising bus services, and also walks around Scarborough.
Christopher is described as approximately 6’2 tall, he is slim build and has a beard. He was last seen wearing Navy black trousers a navy-blue jumper with a cream stripe on and a parker jacket.
Police are currently carrying out enquiries to locate Christopher but are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare. Officers are now asking anyone who may have seen Christopher, or who has information about his whereabouts, to contact them immediately.
A force spokesperson said: "Anyone who has seen him, or has information that could assist police, is asked to call North Yorkshire Police on 101. If you have an immediate sighting please dial 999.
"Please quote the North Yorkshire Police reference number NYP-29072023-0473 when passing information."
