A popular North East asian fusion restaurant has announced it will be closing this weekend.
Buddha Beat on John Street, Sunderland has announced it will be closing after serving customers for the final time on Saturday (July 29).
A spokesperson for the venue said the decision was difficult but they have decided to close the business.
They said they will be hosting a "goodbye party night" for customers by holding a banquet-style buffet.

A spokesperson for the restaurant said: "It's with a heavy heart we have to write this message, but sometimes hard decisions have to be made and we've come to a decision to close after service on the 29th of July.
"Please accept our apologies if you've booked with us after this time, we will be trying to contact everyone who has.
"So for our last days, our hours will remain the same and for Thursday and Friday, you can still book a table online with a slightly smaller menu.
"On Saturday will be hosting a goodbye party night, with a banquet-style buffet at £20pp for everyone.
"We want to thank everyone for their continued support over the past few months and we'd absolutely love to see you guys in our final days."

They have asked those looking to attend the event to message them to confirm a booking.
Residents were left dismayed at the news, with many wishing them the best for the future.
One said: "Absolutely devastated, one of the few places we trust for gluten-free food. Definitely the best restaurant we've eaten in for a very long time.
"We wish you all the best for the future."
Another saddened resident said: "Very sad. Lovely place fabulous food.
"Andy deserved to do well. Good luck & best wishes for the future."

While another disappointed resident said: "So sorry to hear this. Beautiful food and decor, excellent staff and service.
"Best of luck with your next adventure."
The venue opened in the basement of the old Sunderland and South Tyneside Water Board building in January this year and was headed by executive chef Andy Drape.
