A former Durham cricket coach has been charged over an allegation of historical sexual abuse.
Michael Strange, 63, worked as a junior coach and scout for a North East club and also played and coached at other local grassroots teams.
A spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: “Michael Strange, 63, has been charged with one count of indecent assault on a male under 16.

“He is due to appear at South Tyneside Court on July 31.”
Northumbria Police said Strange was charged on July 17.
