Emergency services attended the scene of a car fire on a busy Darlington road yesterday evening.
County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service (CDDFRS) confirmed they received a report of a car on fire at McMullen Road, Darlington just after 6pm on Thursday (July 20).
They also confirmed they deployed one fire engine from Newton Aycliffe to the scene.

Upon arrival, fire crews found the vehicle "well alight" and extinguished the fire.
A CDDFRS spokesperson said: "Our control room received reports of a car on fire at McMullen Road, Darlington just after 6pm yesterday (Thursday 20th July).
"One fire engine from Newton Aycliffe attended the incident.
"On arrival the crew found a vehicle well alight. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a high-pressure hose reel to extinguish the fire and left the scene at approximately 6:45pm.”

Pictures emerged yesterday showing a car at the side of the road ablaze as emergency service vehicles blocked traffic.
The Northern Echo have contacted Durham Police for more information on the incident.
