There are a range of activities and events to take the kids along to as the Summer holidays begin.
As kids break from school to enjoy the summer, parents could be left wondering what activities they can take part in to keep them busy.
Luckily, there are a whole host of events ready to help make this summer one of the best for parents and children alike.
At the Northern Echo, we have curated a short list of events to look forward to as the summer holidays kicks in this month.

Darlington by the Sea, July 24 to July 28
This annual event, organised by Darlington Borough Council, will be taking place at Market Square and promises five days of sun, sea and sand.
The beach-themed celebration will be running between 11am to 4pm each day and is suited to families looking for a day out.
Organisers have said those attending will be able to enjoy sandcastle building in a giant sandpit, face painting, balloon modelling, and much more.
Hullabaloo in the Park, July 26 to July 30
The Hullabaloo will be taking place in South Park and will likely prove a popular destination over the summer break for families with children under the age of 10.
Organisers of the event have described it "super fun five-day outdoor family arts festival" aimed at families with young children.
There will be live performances, storytelling, making, adventuring, dancing, singing, playing, and more.
Those organising the event have said there will be a mixture of scheduled ticketed events and free drop-in activities, with something for everyone from "babies to their grandparents."
There isn’t an entrance fee for the festival but you can book a mixture of scheduled ticketed events or make the most of the free drop-in or bookable activities which are available each day.
Festival activity will run from 10am to 4pm Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, and 10.30am – 4.30pm on Saturday.
On Sunday, the ‘Beastie Boogie with the Bagdaddies’ big finale event activity will be taking place from 10.30am to 6.00pm.

Museum on the Move at Firthmoor Community Centre, July 25
A circus play zone will be open on Tuesday (July 25) between 10am to 3pm.
It will consist of a drop-in play area with music playing and lots of circus toys (hoops, spinning plates, juggling balls, staffs, fan veils, twirling ribbons, bucket stilts etc) to play with.
An event which is sure to delight children with the various circus performances on show, parents might be able to keep their little ones busy.
The session must be booked in advance, it is included in interim membership passes, and will be £2 for non-members.
Market Square screening of Finding Nemo, July 28
There will be an outdoor screening of Disney classic Finding Nemo on the day, as families can enjoy watching this wonderful film in (hopefully good) summer weather.
This comes as part of the 'Film Fridays' event, sponsored by Darlington College.
The event will take place each Friday during the Summer Holidays and will feature free outdoor film screenings.
These will include classic family favourites, as well as 3pm singalongs in the Market Square.
Other films on the day will include Shark Tale and Moana.
Tracks in Town, July 29
A taster of Darlington's Last Train Home Festival, which will take place in September, this event will give residents the opportunity to enjoy the music just a little bit earlier.
The event will be taking place between 1pm and 8pm on Saturday (July 29) in Market Square.

Organisers of the event have said it will be showcasing "a selection of excellent original regional bands."
They have told residents to expect a mixture of rock, pop, soul and more from the performances.
